My House Mouse Amigo

There is a mouse that I know
Who lives in our home
You can hear him squeak
Whenever we bring out the cheese
Mozzarella, Swiss, Manchego or Provolone
It’s like he’s saying…
Pass the cheese per favore

Although some may say
We're a bit mental
For letting a mouse onto our table
We still set him a place
Right next to me
Beside my plate

So if you are coming for dinner
Please be aware
That our house mouse is quite debonair
Often singing songs from la traviata
But that’s only after
Hours of wine fuelled laughter

And don’t worry if you can’t sleep
Forget about those sheep
Count on our mouse
To help you rest easy

One slice for you
Two cubes for me
Three types of cheddar
Four wheels of brie
Five slabs of fetta
Six burrata’s with cream
Seven tasty toasties
Eight baby bocconcini
Nine holes in the swiss
Ten labneh dips
Eleven wedges of pecorino
Twelve chevre pyramids
Thirteen hanging provolone
Fourteen saganakis on the grill
Fifteen baked camembert
Sixteen bubbling fondues
Seventeen parmigiano hearts
Eighteen mozzarella strings
Nineteen funky gorgonzola
Twenty oozy gruyere crostini

Ok, I think you get the drift…
Living with a mouse is wheely cheesy
Sometimes even a bit breezy
However it only makes common sense
To expect some accidental lactose flatulence

So only take a whiff
If you dare
Or perhaps you prefer to know the truth and laugh
There is no mouse in our house
It was me!
I was the one tickling your feet
